How to Make Yummy Naan khatai

Naan khatai. Nankhatai is a popular and traditional Indian cookie which is equally liked by kids as well as elders. Nankhatai can be called as Indian shortbread cookies or biscuits. Nankhatai are traditional Indian shortbread cookies made with all-purpose flour, semolina, sugar and ghee.

Naan khatai Nan khatai is an authentic Indian sweet and savory eggless cookie that can be easily prepared at home. In its authentic recipe, ghee, maida, rava (sooji), gram flour (besan) and sugar are used but nowadays it is generally prepared without using gram flour and rava. Naan Khatai is India's very own desi biscuit which is made in an open oven (you can make it in your OTG or cooker or convection oven also). You can cook Naan khatai using 6 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Naan khatai

  1. It's Gram of flour1_1/2cup.
  2. You need of Ghee1/2cup.
  3. Prepare of Grind suger1/2cup.
  4. It's of Baking soda1/4teaspoon.
  5. Prepare of Beated 1yolk.
  6. Prepare of Almond,sesame seeds for done corate.

It is soft and melt-in-the mouth biscuit and has a unique taste with an unmistakable aroma of desi ghee, which distinguishes it from other cookies. The word Nankhatai is derived from Persian word Naan meaning bread and "Khatai" from a Dari Persian word meaning Biscuit. In Afghanistan and Northeast Iran, these biscuits are called Kulcha-e-Khataye. Kulcha is a type of Indian bread similar to Naan.

Naan khatai step by step

  1. Beat ghee for ten minuts..
  2. Add grind sugar beat again for ten minuts..
  3. Add gram flour baking soda knead well.
  4. Cut with cutter.
  5. Greace with egg yolk sprinkle sesame seeds and almond..
  6. Bake for 12 minuts on 180 degree,after that leave for ten minuts to cool down..

Other way and the original way to shape nan khatais is to take a small dough ball in your hand. Place them on a baking tray.
